I haven't written in this blog for a long time, but it wasn't because I haven't got opinions :-). My biggest concern lately has been with the three Presidential Candidates.

There isn't a conservative in the bunch!

McCain is the closest we get. He is at least pro-life and understands military issues.
Hillary is the more conservative of the two Democrats (isn't that a scary thought!). She has way too much baggage from Bill and company to win in November. I do see her stealing the nomination with the superdelegates.
Obama is just plain scary. Even if he didn't sit under a racist, America hating pastor or have friends who are terrorists who's big regret is that they didn't blow more things up, his ideology is totally socialists. He wants the government to run everything in our lives. That in and of itself should be enough to keep him out of the White House.

I have to laugh when I watch the Democrats deal with all their proportional delegate division and superdelegates. I keep hearing in the back of my mind "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others". If you haven't read Animal Farm by George Orwell, do so soon. I also think that all kids should read it before graduating high school. I make all the students who take my Current Events class at our local co-op read it and compare it to the Russian revolution. Today's kids have no concept of communism and need to understand what happens when liberalism/socialism goes to it's logical conclusion so that we can make sure that they don't allow it to happen in our country.
